Family Guy - "And Then There Were Fewer" - Talkback [9/26]

Am I a bad person for going into this episode telling my family "If they don't kill Muriel in this one, I will lose all faith in the Family Guy writers."?

Loved it, but will explain later.
 
Awesome episode! Though I guess that means Diane is gone from the show now, along with Muriel? Too bad. The Goldmans always crack me up, and it'd be weird seeing Tom doing the news without Diane.

Loved the animation and atmosphere, and the final moment at the end with Stewie was utterly priceless. My brother and I just about died laughing following his single line and the way he looked as he said it. :D


It was basically a take off on Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None.
 
This is another one the "mainstream" isn't gonna appreciate. It doesn't go for laughs all the time and the average Family Guy viewer isn't familar with Agatha Christie's story. Their take on the table chase was pretty clever. I doubt any of the fratboys this thing usually targets were watching by then, though. When the opener with the car reached the one-minute mark they probably just switched to cable.

This was lovingly handcrafted and paced just like an old murder mystery movie; consider me impressed. I would say they're maturing, but this ep was also loaded with painfully wrong gags. I want Nerd Mort back; lame Jewish jokes are not funny.

We won't know until next week if any of this is canon though -- though most that died were very ancillary, don't jump to conclusions, everybody. If it's true, I'm gonna miss James Woods.
 
One word: Wow.

I'm one of the believers that the last season was a big improvement over the past few years, and this season premiere convinced me the series is back on track. After the lackluster hour featuring Simpsons and Cleveland, its good to have one show pick up the slack.

They managed to mix the humor well with the the tension that came with the mystery. I was especially surprised with how the mystery was indeed hard to crack and they managed to keep me guessing. The obvious suspects were quickly taken care of and the real killer wasn't technically caught at all.

I'm actually hoping this episode is canon. Mr. Weed and a couple of gag characters had permanent deaths, so seeing the series go on without Diane might just be interesting. I did notice after this episode how infrequent she had become lately, and this send off makes a lot more sense.
 
Awesome special, more better than The Simpsons' lame season opener episode,

The highlights:
The Kettle Brian joke, hehehe.
The beautiful CGI animation effects were marvelous/well-done!!!!!
Nice to see all the minor characters who're Tom, Diane, Mort & Muriel, Herbert, Dr.Hartman, Mayor Adam West, Consuela, Seamus, Carl, and Jillian & Derek getting involved in the story, but poor Neil is missing though.
Everyone getting invited to James Woods' mansion is an interesting plot.
Stephanie is both annoying/funny, hehehe.
I love Labyrinth, it's an awesome Jim Hensen movie!!!!!
Nice to see the return of James Woods, but his girlfriend Priscilla is hot.
Yikes, both Stephanie, James Woods, Muriel, Derek, & Priscilla being killed off was pretty surprising:eek::eek:, but R.I.P. Muriel/James Woods/Derek/Priscilla, you'll be missed, and that poor Mort/Jillian are single now.
I love the whole "mystery - who is the killer" formula like Murder She Wrote/Matlock/Case Closed.
Stewie's "in the hooouuse" line was funny, hahahaha.
The Peter Knight/Inspector Gadget joke was hilarious, hahahahaha.
Tom/Seamus/Mayor Adam West/Diane's stories were pretty great, but Diane's story got me suspicious though, hmmmm.
The Herbert chasing boys joke was funny, hahahaha.
Consuela's story was so dark/creepy.
Herbert being close to Chris was such a hilarious scene, hahahahaha:p:D.
The black cat with Patrick Stewart's voice was funny.
I love The Great Outdoors, a great funny movie.
Carl bashing Meg was funny though, hehehe.
I love the talking fake bear, hehehe.
The Derek holding the Hollywood sign part was funny, you gotta love Peter's idiocy, hahahaha.
The Find-A-Jew app gag was hilarious, hahahaha.
Joe is Jewish, wooooow, hehehe.
Poor Tom goes to jail which he's innocent.
WOOOOOW, Diane being the killer really shocked me and her story on how she killed everyone was nicely well-done:eek::eek::eek:, a nice touch they want to make her a villainess in this special though.
Evil Stewie is back and was awesome on killing Diane to save Lois, go Stewie, farewell Diane, he still wants to kill Lois, hahahaha, best ending ever!!!!!
Looks like they better find a new replacement hot chick news anchor now, hehehe.
 
Ok, saw this on my DVR cuz I can just fast forward through things, I loved every minute of the episode. The animation, when I first saw that I was just in awe, I was amazed how wonderful it was. I loved how Brian and Stewie didn't want Meg to go with them and they made up some thing so she didn't have to LOL. I also loved the different groups they split into, that was cool. Than, as soon as I thought we'd have figured every thing out another shocking turn happened. I loved the epic ending, I just loved Stewie there he was just. So many funny things in the epiosde too. I haven't loved a Family Guy episode this in a while. Over all, give it a 10. The Simpsons better step up there game :D
 
Oh yeah. Joe falling down the stairs in his wheelchair, only to land right side up and continue on like nothing happened, and especially the cat with Patrick Stewart's voice were hysterical as well! :D
