I told my parents today that im joining the marines when i turn 18 in a month, my dad starting getting mad that im not joining the army (he was in army) because he dosent want me to join infantry (for obvious reasons), he was in army infantry and said its not that its all cracked up to be, he wants me to join the army and have a job that i could use in the outside world. I dont know what to do, i want to serve in the marines but will i regret it? when im in afghanistan fighting for my life will i regret it? if i join the army and get a job and dont join the marine infantry will i regret it? i feel like its a lose lose situation especially if my family is riding on my a** did anyone have any similiar experiences that could lend me some advice?
