Just watched 'Falling Down' on DVD and I'm surprised. I thought it was going to be a 'little man takes on the world'-type movie, but Michael Douglas was just a nutter from the start. Very strange film.
Great movie definitely Joel Schumachers and probably Michael Douglas best film. I found myself agreeing and siding with Douglas during the first half of the movie but he does turn into a complete nut job one he kills the guy in the shop.
I hated it the first time I saw it but I had to watch it as a text for my degree. After I watched it a couple more times I enjoyed it, it has lots of layers, very interesting, and also funny. Good film.
Not many films are made that make you want to shout "WTF...this is brilliant".
Michael Douglas's pretty low key performance just totally dominates the whole film...so much so that you couldn't give a damn about his ex-wife or the detective and his problems at home.
Great film. First time I saw it was when my mum got it for my dad on video (remember them) when it first came out. I didn't realize it was Michael Douglas until I saw it again and few years later.
I liked it, but probably wouldn't be interested in seeing it again. It's one of those type of films. I wouldn't agree that he was nuts from the start - I think the pressure of society that drove him to breaking point was portrayed very well.
first time I watched it I saw in Austria at the cinema, was on an exchange trip at the time.
My German was useless but went along as the person I was staying with hardly seemed to leave the house so it was a rare chance to venture out, watching the film dubbed in German made Michael douglas' character seem even more of a nutcase, he sounded mega pissed
