Falling Asleep In The Cinema

Do you ever fall asleep in the cinema? I often do and it really annoys me. It just sort of creeps up on me and there is nothing i can do about it. At home you can get up and walk around or throw water on your face or whatever but at the cinema you can do nothing. Many times I have desperatly tried to stay awake but find myself nodding in and out and then lose whole chunks of the film. Does this happen to anyone else and what can be done about it?

Once, it was after a tiring shift (I worked at the cinema lol), I fell asleep during Sherlock Holmes. Never going cinema after a long shift again lol. I've never fell asleep in the cinema when I've paid for it lol

You can do all that in a cinema, get up and walk out and refresh yourself, better a few minutes lost than you falling asleep for twenty... Have a bottle of water to refresh your face, or a water spray.

I have on occasions. I think I get it from my father who I don't think ever saw an entire movie in his llife.

I get this strange thing where I don't know whether my eyes are open or closed like I'm dreaming that I'm still watching the film.

Remind me never to sit next to you and your water spray!!

I went through a stage last year when for about 7 or 8 films in a row I'd fall asleep. I haven't done since though.

My husband has fallen asleep in every film we have watched in the cinema. He's like his dad who even fell asleep at a funeral once!

It really annoys me!! Our first date was to see Batman and Robin (wow I still married him after that!) and he fell asleep then!

He has fallen asleep during the Excorcist and Event Horizon which are at times extremely blood curdling and loud. We used to watch a lot of films and I would say he has missed easily half of them!

He also falls asleep at the theatre too! He is the sort of person who can go to bed put his head on the pillow and go to sleep just like that. I'm the total opposite and can easily be wide awake at two in the morning!

I've only fallen asleep in the cinema once and that was when I had a hangover - plus it was a shit film.
The Relic anyone? Something about a monster in a library I think...perhaps? :o

I fall asleep in loud action movies every time. My brain gets overloaded by all the noise and whizzbangs and puts me to sleep!

If the people around me in the cinema are wearing strong bodyspray, perfume or after shave I sometimes faint!:o

I've never fallen asleep in a cinema, but my step dad did when he and i took my younger sister to watch Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone lol :D

I fell asleep during The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, i watched it on TV recently and fell asleep then also, i've seen the beginning and end twice now.:D

My girlfriend fall asleep 10 mins into Avatar, and awoke 10 mins from the end, complaining she wanted to go as the film was obviously "sh!te"

I've never fallen asleep in a cinema, but my dad did once. It was Digimon: The Movie, so I guess he can be excused, but I liked that movie! :o Thank god he never snored.

When I was young, my mum took me and my two sisters to see Jurassic Park. The three of us were sitting there enjoying the spectacle, my mum was in the land of nod. I don't think she found it boring, she was just knackered!
