Fairness Doctrine-What Say You??

Folks, we have all heard the desire to reinstate the so-called "Fairness" Doctrine, supposedly to give equal time to opposing sides of an issue. My take on it is simple! It is just a way for Liberals to monopolize all of the media, like they once did before President Reagan repealed it.

In short, my answer is:

HELL NO!!

It's about one of the very foundational concepts that have helped shape this country-freedom of speech. Being able to convey opinion without compromise or fear of big daddy government shutting you up.

Hey.., if there was a market for liberal jibberish to be sent out over the airwaves, they would'nt need a law to enforce their views.

Truth is once you back a liberal into a corner,(which can be done in a sentence or two), they start calling names and throwing personal insults. Who wants to listen to that on the radio?

You thought wrong, and you're not a very good reader. I didn't say she said anything, I said she advocated the fairness policy. After these links, can you prove to me that she doesn't advocate the "fairness" policy? Thought not.

Can you prove to me that her honest intention is to make the media fair, considering that the mainstream media is on her side? Good luck. :xgood:

Can you tell me that all the links I posted are just ramblings from paranoid right-wing nutjobs? Actually, I wouldn't be surprised. Criticizing, pathetically attempting to discredit, and bluntly dismissing evidence is something you left-wingers are pretty good at. I remember that woman on CNN whose program was barred from interveiws after she asked Joe Biden "isn't distributing wealth socialist?" I also remember how Biden completely dismissed that question.

I personally think Bassman's a radical, but I agree with him on the so-called "fairness policy": HELL NO!!

I can't imagine what the Libs would be saying if Bush et. al. had put in policies to shut up opposition to his policies or had similar rhetoric demonizing ACORN.

How about the majority of them start with personal insults. Comrad Troll Penfold being a prime example. Could you imagine hearing that on the radio beyond the time needed to change the channel?

the only way it can be fair... is if it is volluntary... and if some type of small incentive is provided for doing so..

such as a slight tax reduction for media outlets that apply it..

but to force it.. by law... is anything but fair.

I wonder if Bush had said that all major news networks had to have equal time for both sides would the left tried to start another civil war.
