I am looking at buying a 1995 Toyota 4runner. The owners are asking $2500 for it. It has 166,xxx miles on it, is a manual, 4x4, power locks/windows, and they claim is has minimal problems. No body damage or rust. They are the second owners. Other extras the vehicle has are a after market cd player, running boards, roof rack with ski and bike rack. Recent work to the vehicle includes new starter/alternator, new battery, new timing belt at 120,000, rotors ground down?, heater block installed last winter, new shocks at 120,000, head valve job at 120,000, and recently installed a tow package.
Is 2,500 a fair price for this vehicle? I am new to car buying and want to make sure I am not getting ripped off. Blue book has this at about 3,200 ish. It seems like they want to get rid of it, just had a third kid, need a more family friendly vehicle, etc. I just want to know if I would be getting a good deal and a sound vehicle that will last quite a few more years.
