Fainting & spasms at heights

Went up a tall tower (200m) with my girlf -on the way up on the lift she felt a little shortness of breath and her ears popped. Once out of the lift, she was okay for 5 minutes and then her face turned grey, she felt faint and weak and found it difficult to catch her breath. Only when i got her back to ground level and 5/10 minutes had passed did she feel someway better.

She never had any problems up to three years ago. On two flights she fainted and had these spasm attacks. She hasnt flown since and the tower was the first time she had been at any significant height since.

Obviously this problem is caused by her reaction to the air pressure. Could anyone advise as to what course of action she could take to be able to fly without this occuring?

Thanks in advance to any posters.

(p.s. she is a perfectly healthly 28 year old woman other than this; non-smoker; non-drinker; not on any medication including contraceptive pill)

I would suggest that she see a doctor and get a good check up. It could be an inner ear problem. I'm surprised she didn't see a doctor after this happened on a flight. She may faint one time and seriously injure herself. I wish you well.
