Failing a vehicle inspection in Texas?

Is it required that you must go back to the same shop that failed you on the vehicle inspection test?

They told me I had 15 days to go back to them and they'll do it for free, but that means that I have 15 days to go back to them or else I'll be fined or does it mean that I'm qualified for a free inspection by them again in the next 15 days.
 
NO...YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO BACK TO SAME SHOP...THAT IS ONLY IF YOU DONT WANT TO PAY AGAIN,.,,,

This is a trick that shops dont...when you come in for state inspection, they will do the safety check first and if you fail they do hook to computer and or vice versa...they charge you for the inspection even though you failed....but state law says if you return within so many days and car is repaired you dont pay again...

but you can get repairs done and take to a different shop the only thing is you have to pay again fo rthe state inspection $40
