What doctor has done the most repairs for a failed lurabar fusion at the L-5 S-1?
 
Diet, that's interesting. My surgeon operates the same way. I had to drop off my films and fill out an extensive questionnaire. If he felt he could help then an appointment was made for me. Dr Alan Gillick, Scranton Orthopedics.
 
I had Dr. Stephen Courtney in Plano Texas. Fellowship trained, head of his department and has awarRAB in bio-mechanics and bio-engineering. This tells me the person is very knowledable about how and why the spine works and how to make it work the best way possible.
We all had different doctors and different outcomes. I don't think we are supposed to make recommendations, just share our experiences (the mod had to correct me one time-I oopsed).
My experience with the doctors at University of Kansas Medical Center has been good.They have taken care of me since I moved and was diagnosed with some scar tissue against my sciatic nerve. It can happen to anyone as I understand-I had previous surgeries with no scaring issues on other places in my body.
I like doctors who are current ith new technologies and go to annual symposiums and meetings to learn about all this new stuff I hope can help us in the long run.

Hi Everyone! My doc is tops in his field here in Birmingham Alabama. I am convinced if he had operated on me the very first time, I would not have had the 2nd surgery. First doc left bone fragments in and kept saying it will get better. No it did not and a co-worker told me about Dr. Jeffery Wade after finding me crying at work. He is very upfront and will tell you the truth about your outcome but still remains positive. He also has a great bed side manner which is very rare in a surgeon. Just thought that I would put my two cents in. J:)
 
I am looking for a doctor with experience in replacing failed lurabar fusions. I will go anywhere but would prefer the eastern side of the US
 
There are a couple people on the board who had surgery with. Cammisa at the Hospital for Special Surgeries in NYC. One is LAF and another is Moldova, if I am remerabering correctly!! This was LAF's first surgery, but Moldova's was a revision.
 
My surgeon has had some great success based upon stories his nurse has told me. He's part of the Scranton Orthopedic Associates in Dickson City, PA, and he is the only spine surgeon in the practice. He's fellowship trained in spinal fusions and was part of the original team that developed BMP at the University of Maryland.
 
Orthopaedic Surgeon Frank P. Cammisa, Jr. MD located in New York, NY - I have not used this doctor personally but I am strongly considering using him and have started pulling together my recorRAB. When I called, I was told that Dr. Cammisa will review all of your recorRAB before he even sees you to determine if he will take on your case. His speciality is failed back syndrome.

My second surgery was done by DR Camissa at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC.
My first milti levels spinal fusion failed and it was re-done by Dr Camissa who specializes in revision surgeries.
