factory stereo and subs?

i have a '02 lexus is 300 with factory stereo still installed. how hard would it be to hook up subs to it.
 
Not too bad. You just need an amp, a sub, a box, and a line out converter. The line out converter, or LOC, takes a signal from your stock stereo and sends it to the amp.

Some amps also have "high level" speaker inputs, so you dont need a LOC, you can just splice wires from your rear speakers into the amp for the signal.
 
The LOC splices directly into the rear speakers, this way you do not have to take the dash apart to install the amp and sub. Which much easier than wiring the speaker wire to the amp for the high level input.
