factory infinity amp not working with speakers?

i recently bought a Kenwood KFC-6982ie for my 99 chrysler sebring convertible w/infinity sound system and they dont seem to work unless i bypass the infinity amp, am i doing something wrong or should i permanently bypass the amp, the peak power of the speakers is 500W with 90W rated power

your help would be appreciated
