Factory GM warranty! pontiac g6?

So I bought a 2006 pontiac g6 with 1500 miles on april 2007 as "new" car. I have not reached the 36000 mile mark for the warranty yet, but the dealer just told me the 3 year mark expired oct 08 meaning the car was put in service oct 05. The warranty should have not stated till the day I took delivery of the car being it was a new vehicle! So basicaly they sold me a used car as a new car!----Is there anything I can do about this???????
GM is producing nothing but s*** vehicles anymore! This was the 3rd and last new car I will buy from this manufacture
 
Don't buy a GM the next time around I did not. There is a reason all the American car companies are going out of business and need to rely on european and japanese companies to survive. I
