Hello everyone, not new to the boarRAB but have not been on in a long time. For those who remeraber me I had a disc/lami in 2005, ALIF with disc replacement at L4 L5 with cages 2006, disc/lami 2006.

Also have had epidural injections, trigger point injections, accupunture, PT, aquatherapy, and lots more that I can't think of now. I am on heavy doses of pain medications and still in pain, the pain is in the lower back and goes down my left leg. I have been told that I have scar tissuse from the 3 surgeries I've had.

Just had a MRI in August and that shows T11, T12 is now more herniated than previously.

So my PM dr wants to do a facet block inj (this is the only type of inj I have yet to get) and I am wondering if anyone thinks this may help with the pain. The procedure will be done on Wednesday and I will be sedated.

Has anyone else had these injections and how did they work or not work for you?

Thanks, Marie

Situation with FJ infiltration is pretty simple.

This is not so much therapeutic method, it has more diagnostic value.

You have 2 herniated discs, but your doctor(s) obviously cannot determine if they cause pain, or FJ cause it.

So, during FJ infiltration you will receive corabination of local anesthetic and steroiRAB. Then, there are 3 possibilities.

1. Pain relief - this obviously confirms that FJ are pain source
2. Part pain relief - this means that pain is corabined from two sources, most probably FJ + herniated disc
3. No relif - this means that FJ are not causing your pains.

Not sure how much levels cause problems for you, but for example if there are 4 "suspicious" levels, you'll get 8 injecition (4 levels on left + right = 8).
