Facebook chat shows how many friends are online but not specifically who. Why?

It shows the number of people, but it doesn't tell me who exactly is online. I can't even chat with them, the screen for the chat is blank except for when it gives the number of online friends. Why does this happen and how can I fix it?
 
Hiya, i have this problem sometimes and its an easy one..

Its your connection to the internet... when i have my wires to facebook broadband i have no problems always shows chat and whos on..

however if i go on my mobile dongle and the signal is week it can be blank or not show... check with isp provider re signals and that will solve it.
