F Deltoid Nerve damage from Trauma

Hello, I am at a rather tough part of my life. I got in an accident on a mountain bike on a very hilly and rough trail. My neurologist said the nerve that connect my 5 and 6 in my Brachial Plexus is "stretched".. I am not sure whether I am ever going to be able to move my arm right again or not. This is a major problem for my life, and I really would like some experienced responses.
The EMG didnt make any noise when he did it on the Numb part of my right arm. My Unit patch area of my arm is totally numb. This accident happened on August 27th. The MRI and exam doesnt show any torn anything.
Is there ANYTHING I can do? The neurologist said he doesn't deal with many traumas, would this effect his findings and thoughts? My entire life is pretty much on the line right now. Thank You so much! It has already been 4 weeks! :dizzy:

since this doc was telling you that he did NOT even have alot of real experience with 'truama' i seriously would seek out a good neurosurgeon for your best type of info. he or she will do a better eval and consult only because they actually DO surgerys that involve those nerves on a regular basis.

trust me, when it comes to needing any specialist for any type of really solid info on YOUR type of injury, you kind of have to go with the more experienced in THAT area. this should be a neurosurgeon or at the very least a good ortho spine surgeon, but a SURGEON either way? not because you need surgery, but for the level or expertise in finding out the things you need to know. you may have some type of options here that a mere neurologist just has no clue about at all but surgeons would. i hope there is something that can be done for you. please let me know how things go. you can obtain the referral from either your primary or this neurologist you are seeing now since he KNOWS its above his head? Thank you, my EMG report was sent to my Ortho Surgeon and he said the nerve is badly stretched, and it will take about 6 months to heal. He said the EMG was showing some confusing and random electrical impulses... indicating the nerve was not dislocated, just stretched. He said it is my Axial nerve... and that it WILL fix itself. That is such great news for me. Now I am waiting for the darn thing to heal. Still not muscle contraction at my F Deltoid. I will keep u up to date. Thanks!
