cat question

(used 2 outdoors only). Diagnosis? she's had full blood work, turned up nada. she used to be very athletic, outdoorsy, great mouser up until june of this year. started waking us up in middle of night asking for water which shed never done before. she's also using her cat box way more than she ever did. the smell of urine is awful. what is wrong with her?

I'm really surprised all her labs came back negative because she has the textbook signs of diabetes. Do a little Googling and see if either one of these fit her symptoms: look at both 'Diabetes Melitis', and 'Diabetes Insipidus'. When her blood was drawn, had she been kept away from food for at least 6 hours first? If not, then her blood sugar results would not have been accurate. It would be a good idea to do them again, this time with her fasting for about 6 hours. The only other thing I can think of that causes a lot of drinking and stinky pee would be kidney failure but it is not associated with a weight gain.
