yeah, anyway, i have no idea how many others here read this, whatever, i just read the latest chapter and i wanted to see what others thought about this American Football youth world cup thing.

Ive really enjoyed following the Devil Bats through out the manga, so i cant say i like the idea of this "all star" japan team taking center stage now, what, they corabine the best of every team weve seen into one? that sounRAB boring, doesn't sound like an Underdog team like the types i like following (aka devil bats), and that probably means we wont be seeing guys like the Huh Huh brothers, Taki, or Daikichi playing anymore cause they don't seem very "all star"-like.

Also, i really thought the manga would end after they won the Christmas Bowl, that was like, the goal from the beginning, so now their switching gears?, i dont want this to turn into another Captain Tsubasa that keeps on going and going for a really really long time.

what do you guys think?

It's no different than other series like Whistle! The series is so successful that they were probably asked to continue it, and imagine what will happen if they actually start to introduce some of the NFL teams like they did at the end of the anime- with Hiruma and Sena on different teams.

i don't know much about Prince of Tennis, but i just cant see everything thats happened up until now in this manga as just a warm up to something bigger, tha sounRAB cheap.

Well, from reading this and Whistle! The volumes I've red until like 20 have been preparing Sho's team what was going to come.

Which the Toreson was Whistle!'s version of the national youth league. Though, I'm not sure about this youth league of Eyeshield 21. As I'm only reading Viz' rendition, and we're at the turning point of the match with Agon's game.

Wait... the series is going after the Christmas bowl? That's a bit to much if you ask me. I mean the anime had to end at the Knight's game and had a strange epilouge(basically of Sena in the future.) but the manga decides to go ahead and go past the Christmas bowl? Outrage! >_> Ah well, I hope the manga stays good though.

Unless you wanted endless filler, the anime basically had to end with the Ojo game. They had basically caught up with the manga. As it is, it's believed they will probably do the rest of the Japan games in one OVA volume. Since they're continuing after that, I wouldn't be surprised to see an OVA of these International games occur after that, which would set up the epilogoue the anime showed.

so, the last chapter is upon us, despite a few short comings, im pretty satisfied with this ending.

The youth world cup was clearly rushed as hell, but, meh, it wasn't that cool anyway.

Everyone moves on to college or the semi-pro league (x-league) with all of the having the goal of wining the Rice Bowl (the big game between the college champs and the x-league champs that decides the #1 in Japan).

Sena, Monta, Riku, Kurita, Muzumachi, Koutarou and Unsui join the same college/team. They have a game against the college cupid guys not unlike Sena's first game in the series. And of course all the other teams come to scout, also not unlike the begining, and we get to see mostly everyone else there:

Mamori, Hiruma, Agon, Yamato, Banba, Ikyu, Juumonji, Akaba, and Taka join the same college/team.

Shin, Sakuraba, and Otawara continue on to the Ojou university team.

Takami and Yukimitsu end up in a medical college.

Habashira Rui goes on to the Zokuto college and becomes good.

Agon, Kid, Tetsuma, Gaou, and the other 2 ha ha brothers Kuroki and Togano joing Musashi's construction company and their x-league team.

I love how after high school the original three Kurita, Musashi, and Hiruma had to go their separate ways and join different teams. Now their out to compete against each other.

I also like how Unsui joined a different team that Agon, its nice that hes finally trying to defeat Agon instead of his usual "hes better than me, i should just give up" ways.

Sena wants to conquer the Rice Bowl and then defeat Panther.

I like the open endedness of the ending, everyone pretty much came full circle and everyones on different teams running towarRAB the same goals (of winning).

My only gripe is that we dint get closure on all of the characters, like Marco or Komusubi and others. Though i assume Taki returned to america to try for the San Antonio team once again (he was only in Japan for the experience).

Alll in all it was a great ending, and thus enRAB one of the greatest manga ive ever read

Since 333 is the last chapter, it means the US has 110 chapters to go. Viz has been releasing an average of 9-10 chapters in each manga volume, so that's basically 12 volumes that remain. Since it's released every other month, that means we have a rough date of May 2011 for the final volume in the US.
