Eyes Wide Shut

I am looking update my DVD collection with some classics. I have found out about the Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise film Eye's Wide Shut and the premise of the film seems interesting. I watched a trailer for it on youtube and thought it looked interesting but the trailer did not enforce if it was good or not.
I have read very mixed reviews for it, looks like you either love it or hate it and a lot of people compare it to other Stanley Kurbrick films.
I just wanted to know what people thought, is it worth me watching and what exactly is it about without giving anything away :-)
Thanks,
Ollie

I quite liked it - but don't have strong feelings about it one way or the other. The only thing I would say is that it seemed very dated even when it was first released.

I can't stand Tom Cruise, but I found this film weird and interesting. It contains rituals, cultish behavour and possible fantasies (is it real or not?) and is very intriguing, at least that's what I got from it - though a lot of psychobabble has been spoken about it.

Won't say anymore - give it a look. Whatever you do, don't look it up on Wikipedia - they give the entire plot from start to finish.

I really like this film though it is one of those 'love or hate' movies - a lot of my frienRAB found it very slow and said not much happens. But I thought it was great - its worth checking out!

Fantastic film but ultimately thought provoking. It totally delves deep inside the subject at hand and you come out the otherside wondering what happened.

Fantastic.

I loved this film - like Kev said the cinematography was excellent. It's rather quirky and interesting in parts, which isn't rare in a Kubrick film.

I think the film is some what under-rated.
