Yes, it's true. A real shame as Euronews provides info not found elsewhere, and without an american slant.
However, EV does say it plans to add additional HD content... CBC West HD. I guess I just miss all of the HD which CBC presents! I think EV should remove all of the canadian HD network channels. Why waste bandwidth retransmitting existing content, eh, Global? CTV?
Time to let the BDUs buy content directly and forget about the canadian network's repackaging foreign content. They need to produce original material! Isn't this what "subscription" TV is really about?

To free up space, Bell needs to remove 4 or 5 SD channels for every single HD channel. EuroNews, although it has six or seven audio feeds, is still only "one" SD channel. Planete, is on the main 91 bird; Euronews is on the HD 82 bird. Dropping these channels might be more coincidental than a move to launch CBC West HD.

If you call BEV in the next weeks mention you dissatisfaction to the agent, they added a special note for that in our system. Ask the agent to use the note found in Multi Vu under PROGRAMMING and REMOVAL OF PLANET/EURONEWS. Bell Express Vu will makes stats about that and might change their decision

BEV also has to serve its French-speaking market and keep up with the fierce competition, and they are also getting way behind French HD (Videotron cable provider in QC offers more French HD than BEV)...

Did you see the "Hockey: A People's History" series? It was fabulous, all in HD, and only on the CBC. Of course, hockey games are often in HD as well. They do HD movies many nights, too. Oh yeah - they also carry "Planet Earth" from the BBC in HD, with some of the coolest nature shots I've seen.
Maybe you just need to watch the CBC more.

I liked Euronews. I had to drop it because you had to sub to variety 3 to get it, which was all music channels(and no pick and pay option)

BEV has a large clientele in Quebec a province who is mostly French...and until a few months ago BEV did not offer any French channels. BEV added 5 French channels to their programming and plans on adding 3 more recently to make the count at 8!
The big deal is that lots of French clients were sold the HD value pack by agent who didn't know that French HD channels came with the themes, that to get French HD you didn't need to sign up for the HD value pack. BEV is behind Videotron for French channel cause they offer Vrak T

Are they touching RFO? I subscribed to Expressvu when their originally offered it, just for that channel, but then when they switched from picking up the channel via satellite to off the air, the picture became horrible and I ditched them.
btw, how's the picture quality these days on RFO (147?)
