Explain why plant biodiversity could be threatened by an invasive an exotic plant...

usually exotic plant species threaten plant biodiversity only when conditions are good for the exotic species.

- they compete with native plants for nutrients, food, air, and water
- they can reproduce at a rapid rate
- they are bolstered by other invasions of other exotic plant species
- they can alter their growth to suit their new environment
- native species can't survive because they haven't evolved to cope with invasive species
- invasive species have special features (evolved certain features as well as new environment) that will make them more competitive than their endemic neighbors.
