Experienced hair professionals I need advice?

So I bleached my hair by soapcapping (mixing hair bleach with shampoo and applying to damp hair) twice the same day about a week ago, it turned yellow with a lot of orange in it. I tried to dye it golden blonde, but the dye didn't stick because I tried to dye it too soon. So I was planning to wait a week or two before trying to dye it again, but I realized a have quite a few orange pieces that I think are too dark to hold the golden blonde hair dye. MY QUESTION IS... if I soapcap those orange pieces to try and lighten them up, would it help if the shampoo I used was Clairol Shimmer Lights? It is a purple toning shampoo you use to tone down brassiness in blonde hair, but I thought if I mixed that shampoo in with the bleach, it would eliminate further brassiness in my hair caused by the bleach. Any input? =] (please don't suggest I go to a salon, I know this can be done through DIY, just need to know what to do next) 10 points given to best answer!
