Expand your horizon

Can't go wrong with Fabric mixes, in fact it was my first visit to Fabric that got me interested in D&B in the first place. I'll def check out Dieselboy, dark is all good and must be alright if it's deserving of a username!

Aside from what Jackhammer mentioned, give Black Secret Technology by A Guy Called Gerald a spin - one of the essentials (if you don't have it already of course).

Timeless by Goldie's another good 'un too.

Basically Jazz, that would be nice. Like I hear a lot of names, but see, the jazz I like is the improvisational conversation with God, high on reefer sort of thing, or the cool mellow jazz. I don't like the upbeat sort of jazz like, Aint Misbehavin, if you know what I mean. Also I don't much care about jazz singers, just musicians.

Also if there was a big torrent with everything from the Elephant 6 collective that would be fantastic.

I'm no expert, but anyways, I suppose this one is not exactly from "Mexico" but give it a try -

BABE(B)LOGUE: The Roots of Chicha - Psychedelic Curabias from Peru (2007)

I'm not sure whether that's what you are after as I have no idea what's 'curabia'. It just had the word and I happened to remeraber .

Or maybe something like this?

(Ignore the accordion pic. I'm sure you'll get through it . I find the accordion to be a bit cheesy, but that wasn't half bad. And I *think* it has some complex-tribal sort of drumming?)

Edit: And here's a track from the compilation without any vocals

YouTube - juaneco y su corabo - me robaron mi runa mula

Some albums you might like;

Morcheeba - Big Calm
Thievery Corporation - The Mirror Conspiracy
UNKLE - Psyence Fiction
Faithless - Reverance
Tricky - Maxinquaye

^ Should all be easy enough to find. If you don't have them already of course.

To me, Mozart is just generally more light. I really enjoy Don Giovanni, mostly just because of the Commendatore scene. It is really powerful, especially for the time. But in general, Mozart is definetly more light than Wagner, for example.

A very easy mistake to make. Death metal isn't the easiest genre of music to get into if you're not sure you're really into at first. The wrong banRAB can be a real turn off and sadly you'll miss some of the better more talented ones out there. Anyhow I'll post a few videos and if any of them strike a chord with you send me a PM and I'll send you the album.

I hope that puts you on the right path.

I don't know much opera at all, but what do you think of this....

Caruso - Luciano Pavarotti

On the version I have, Jeff Beck plays on it and it's incredible.

This isn't quite as mellow, but I like this track a lot too...

Gladiatore - Luciano Pavarotti

Roni Size - New Forms
London Elektricity - Billion Dollar Gravy
LTJ Bukem - Logical Progressions
EZ Rollers - Weekend World

That's 4 from me but these are older albums I have to stress but all have slightly different elements of DnB which is never a bad thing.

a delicate blend of country & hardcore. not to mention a few other things that surprise you from time to time. the influence on Nirvana is palpable throughout the album. it's really wonderful, actually. they've got a few other works worth listening to but none so perfectly executed.

when i say "hardcore" i'm referring to the alternative scene that grew out of it. i'd be bored to tears listening to stuff like Bad Brains.
