Exhaust change on 2009 Kawasaki ninja zx 10?

hi i just changed the exhaust on my ninja it had a damper on the factry exhaust and had 2 cables were going to the little box which is under the seat i got all that done i wanted to know should i disconnect the power to that little box or not.. if i drive it like this it shouldnt cause any damege
