Exercise/Running help please!?

Okay so this summer i plan on sticking to an exercising program to prepare for football and get in shape. I want to run at least twice a week all summer long. And sometimes i see people working out and running in sweats. would running with sweats on help me to burn more calories and lose weight better than running without them? or would this only get rid of water weight that i will regain when i drink water after the workout? please help me
