Exercise Bike Effects?

Hello :)
Today was my first day riding a stationary excerise bike.
I'm only 114 pounds, but I have some lower ab flab that I would like to get rid of, and I want firm thighs as well.
My bike is pretty old....so I can't tell how many miles I rode, but I did ride for 35 minutes today, going between fast and moderate speeds.

How could I possibly convert the time into miles?

and more importantly, will the bike give me my firm thighs and lower stomach? how long do you think it will take to burn that fat?
