Exchanging a Scion for a Toyota Corolla?

I bought (financing) a new Scion xB Scion 2009 back in November 2008 and it now has about 6,000 miles. The gas mileage in 23mpg so I feel like I'm back and forth to the gas station. I wanted to know if I can exchange it for a Corolla. Maybe a Corolla 09. What are my chances and what would be the implications?
 
Sure the dealer will let you trade it in. Of course you will get a lot less than you bought it for. Those thousands of dollars would buy at least a year worth of gas.
