i've upgraded my desktop probably 3 times in the past 3 years

and that's apples and oranges dumbshit, i can easily upgrade my desktop but i can't open up my TV and swap parts like its nothing. when people buy TVs, they buy them to last throughout their lifespan, without having to upgrade all time. you seem to be blindly defending sony's lack of an integrated scaler, which is completely retarded on their part.

He's a straight up fucking homo. Only he will upgrade every year to have the cutting edge techonolgy while saving up his paychecks at burgerking for a year just to do so.
 
errr.. what is the real problem here? Who cares if a certain TV makes a picture look 2% better.. non HD, CRT with component input ftw.

according to another thread in this forum, the ps3 supports 1080p and 720p for its games: if your TV only supports 1080i, it plays back in 480p. but apparently for BluRay movies, the ps3 only supports 1080i and 1080p: so if your TV only supports 720p, it plays back in 480p. what a clusterfuck.
