Israel's weaponry was equal or worse than the soviet-provided weaponry during most of its wars. Not to mention usually being outnumbered 5:1. Additionally, Russia actually sent TROOPS to assist the Arabs in operating these weapons and even engaging Israel on several occasions.
 
I'd feel safer in Beirut right now than Northern Israel.

When you are on the receiving end of Israeli fire you are given advanced notice that your area may be hit, and can rest assured that every precaution possible is being taken to spare your life. However, if you are on the receiving end of Hezbollah fire you can be assured that as a civilian you are #1 in their sights.
 
I'm not sure I could justify choosing a grad school based on the Jewish population. It's important, but I wouldn't sacrifice education for my faith.
 
Armaments

how so? It's people expecting handouts for things that have happened in the past. I'm sure you have had at least one criminal in your family in the past (especially since you majored in some bullshit like middle eastern studies, your genes can't carry very much intelligence ), do you think you should be punished for their wrongdoings?
 
Israel is merely being forced to enforce UN 1559 because of inaction. Of course one would hope that the United Nations would adhere to its ideals and dispatch every available resource to assist Israel in this regard. Too bad they all hate Jews!
 
No, I will agree with you completely here.

Being someone of religious faith, I believe everything is controlled from above, as do yourself (I presume) if you believe in a higher being. The fact that Jews have excellent values, which is certainly the cause of this success is not in opposition to any sort of religious beliefs.
 
10,000 or so that last I heard, mostly in Mumbai? It is actually one of the only countries in the world where Jews were/are not persecuted, though now we are beginning to see the Pakistani terror groups targetting them as well.

I have a good friend who is an Indian Jew, but have probably met 4-5 in my life.
