The current conflict isn't even about land. Israel withdrew from every inch of Lebanon six years ago, even Hezbollah does not dispute this. Instead of attacking in order to liberate their land, now they simply attack because they want to eliminate Israel. No need for them to sugar coat it anymore.

If/when you go to grad school you should choose one with a more sizable and more intelligent Jewish population. These things are important in the big picture and in my opinion should be a factor when selecting a potential school, which is why I likely would not have gone to IU.
