Also, you can search by titles of threads only, and specify which forum to look through so your answers are relevant to your type of phone. Do you know why the veterans don't post new threads everyday? It's not that they know everything, it's because we know how to find what we're looking for without filling the boards with redundant threads.

2 more points for a Search tutorial.

go in this S60 forum
search for "sandisk minisd"
You'll get some results including this thread

move over N91- SanDisk 4GB miniSDHC Announced!

In that thread, it highlights the word "sandisk" and "minisd". No where are those two word together to make "sandisk minisd"

So, as I said, that feature doesn't work.

As I just proved, the "" feature won't work, along with all the features I listed.

Im a forum veteran, so I know how to pound this search tool until I get what i look for, but THANK GOD FOR TABBED BROWSING cause I gotta open 50 search results at the same time and skim through them real fast.

Many questions arent board specific, or that the answers can be found spread about multiple boards. Also, the "topic only" search is just as much limiting as the "search this board" feature. If the topic wasnt very common, you might not have ANY threads with the words in the topic, but the answer is in there somewhere. Such as looking for people's recommendation on the N73 in the "what to buy" forum. Most topics are "WHAT SHOULD I BUY OMG!!!???" and then in the thread, people will mention the N73.

Point being, the search engine sucks.

no you don't understand what I said JwY

I said you hit a thread that only says "sandisk minisd" which is normal to find, but you would get the same result if you searched without the ""

However, stop being lazy, look at other search results and you'll see that the words "sandisk" and "minisd" are mentioned, but seperately, so you don't JUST get "sandisk minisd"

Some results will have "sandisk minisd" and some will have sandisk+minisd

Look at http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1003953&highlight=sandisk+minisd

It's a search result of "sandisk minisd" done in S60 forum.

Yet, nowhere it says "sandisk minisd" TOGETHER

In it, they say "sandisk" and "minisd" a

If you don't understand, I give up on you.

"" trick doesn't do what it's supposed to do. End of story.

That was one thread and I saw it, but all the rest worked. One inconsistency doesn't make the whole thing useless. Did you even bother with the rest of it using a post result?

http://www.howardforums.com/search.php?searchid=3311060

Here's another example using the words n95 and gps. You say that not using the quotations gives the same result, but look:

http://www.howardforums.com/search.php?searchid=3311060
versus
http://www.howardforums.com/search.php?searchid=3311231

I don't understand two things.
1) Why you're being so defensive to me about it.
2) Why you're resulting in calling me lazy when I haven't name called you or labelled you.

All I'm trying to do is show you it does work in a non flaming and reasonable manner.

Ok, it doesnt give the same results, but it still doesnt give ONLY the string in quotations, which makes it useless considering I cant figure out what it is actually narrowing down

http://www.howardforums.com/search.php?searchid=3311117
A result is "move over N91- SanDisk 4GB miniSDHC Announced!" which has nowhere written "sandisk minisd"

http://www.howardforums.com/search.php?searchid=3311677

Yet there is a difference

but nothing reliable

and I wasnt trying to call you any names.

Im just having a huge headache and I'm a horrible with patience when it comes to explain "differently" my point

We're both right

"" is broken
"" does "something"

I actually find it easier to search on google to link to hofo threads. It's pretty good at narrowing down specific information.

Works for me?
My first hit:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1104475&highlight=sandisk+minisd

I do agree it sucks overall though.

Well, it's a little less intense compared to what I've seen. It usually ends with mass banning.
