Every time I get cut on my lip or my tongue, I get sick.?

Quite often, when I accidentally bite the inside of my cheek, or my tongue, or my lip, I end up with an extremely painful and annoying welt that lasts for days. In addition to that, it seems that whenever this happens to me I also manage to catch a minor cold. I always do my best to keep the injuries clean and prevent infection.

Is this just coincidence?
