the only advice that i can give to you about going into philosophy...DON'T!!!

philosophers are fucking crazy, irrational retards who either don't think outside the box, or do so way too damn much.

i took ethics and philosophical readings last year in college. the guy was nuts. i went to visit him in his office and his windows were blocked off with paper. he would talk about running over children and stuffing pinatas with C4. fucking whack. not to mention any legitimate conversation i had with him ended with me running away screaming and pulling my hair out.

philosophy sucks, don't do it
 
It's pretty depressing going through life thinking that you've got it all figured out yet at the same time you know you're going to eventually think that everything you currently think is wrong.
 
I hope you don't think that of me. The beauty is that we don't have it figured out. I can hope we embrace that every person has the ability to learn on different curves. Wisdom is purely relative and if you close your mind at the point that you feel wrong than you will never really learn what you feel to be right. In my opinion wisdom is obtained subconsciously and can only be accomplished through life experience. This sort of understanding and willingness leaves no time for depression. :)
