i was watching bewitched the other day. i noticed the moment he got home from work the first thing daren did every day was get wasted on booze. and i recently saw old episodes of twilight zone and outer limits with dudes smoking and offering each other cigarettes. i even saw an old flinstones episode once with fred and barney smoking cigarettes!
it's like that on almost all the shows from back then. folks were constantly sucking down liquor and smoke like it was nothing. even kid's cartoons for god's sake! i mean you'd never see that on any tv show today. no wonder kid's back then grew up doing drugs. look at the examples they saw around them.
