"for not taking the band seriously". the real reason i was kicked out really pisses me off. basically me and, three of my friends, one friend played the guitar, one the bass, and one the drums got together one summer to just jam and maybe write some tunes, eventually the guitar friend got weeded out, and we added another friend who played piano and could sing. anyway the bassist and piano man were good friends in my opinion conspired to kick me out, and it is somewhat true that i didn't take it seriously, i mean we were just kind of having fun, making music. basically the last time i practiced with them they had over two other kids who both played guitar which pissed me off, one i was and am friends with the other is a total fag who i want to punch in the face some day, and whenever i think about doing it i laugh because he probably doesn't even realize how much i hate him, and it would be funny explaining why i just out of the blue hit him. anyway they kicked me out and put both of them in the band, eventually they kicked the one guy out who was my friend, got another kid to play the guitar and the spineless kid i hate got back in the band by playing the trombone, which he has not previously played, he picked it up (tool), i don't know. and they grabbed another kid for drums, which when i was in the "band" they were talking about grabbing him, and i told htem to keep our current drummer because he was cool and he hadn't done anything to deserve being kicked out, and that's basically how i got kicked out. the only people in that whole thing that i still talk to are the one guitar kid who got kicked out, the original friend of mine who played guitar, and the original drummer. lost two really good friends, but i found out they were d-bags so, meh. that was two years ago, wow, time really flies.
also, to your dilemna, protest, get the bassist to back you up. is it just one guy being an asshat to you? if so try to turn the band against that guy, chances are he has probably crossed all of you before. maybe you can at least drag a couple of people with you and form another band with most of the members of that band, there in by ruining that band and giving your new band a chance. good luck
