Be honest, why are people still bashing Obama, I'd like to say ignorance and racism, but I want someone to prove me wrong, please do give credible, intelligent reasons. I'd love to hear from some non Obama supporters.
Romey, you're awful general and you give no evidence give me specifics!

Kimmy- the middle class is what makes the world go round, with no middle class there is no democracy.
Okay Arcanum, I was hoping for some civilized discourse but you shot that to hell. The racism notions come from personal experiences and my own friends saying they aren't voting for that n.... So I just wanted to see if there were any legitimate arguments against Obama. And Obama is not my messiah because I DO believe in seperation of church and state. most of you didnt vote for him? he won the electoral AND popular vote which is more than I can say for President Bush but I don't want to beat a dead horse so I won't focus on that. His plan for the recession is a whole lot better then Bush's plan to PREVENT it which included absolutely nothing. Obama is looking to create jobs. And you can't hate on liberals for not giving Bush a chance, he didn't have legitimacy. There's Bush bashing because after 8 years Americans aren't better off, they have the RIGHT to tactfully bash Bush, the one right he hasn't taken away yet.
okay fox news, first of all in my first post I asked why people are bashing Obama, I never first declared that I supported Obama, and you were one to assume he was my messiah. later on I did make it clear I support him because he is my next president after all, and I just wanted to be honest with where my experiences came from. You can't ignore the fact that a large percent of the electorate grew up in a different time were it was never thought of that a black person could be President. However I do not assume that whoever didn't support Obama is racist because you are ignoring the fact that McCain was in the race too and he has some admirable qualities. I think a lot of my claims have evidence to support them. Obama's plans are similar to the New Deal, which didn't help anything in the short term however the long term achievements are monumental. I'd much rather have a path to longterm success versus little things that guarantee short term success like say, giving peopler mortages
and loans they can't afford. I don't know you but based on what you've said I don't like you but I respect you're right to say it. And if you're better off right now verus 8 years ago then all the power to you, you're one of few. So stop assuming things about me and misconstruing what I'm saying and realize my intentions of this question, to get people to support Obama because whether you voted for him or not he is our next President.
WOW-I like you're answer thumbs up.

<<< Obama supporter but I'd like to throw my 2 in... the 2 characteristics you mentioned, followed by ignorance, followed by their religious beliefs that only Republicans should be Pastor-In-Chief in America.

O.K. what has he ever done? Well he did vote "present" in the senate It was on his watch during the last two years. that the do nothing congress got us in this mess the Democratic congress..was in charge a year before the wheel started to fall off. Where was his leadership? You can blame the president but he runs nothing, Its the congress .

ignorance and racism have nothing to do with why i still "bash" Obama.
his idiocy is the reason i "bash" him.

rich people and small businesses make the world go 'round and he wants to "level out the playing field".
now tell me, if everyone has the same amount of money, how will everyone survive? small businesses will be taxed way more than they can afford and they will go out of business.

a lot is going to happen in the next four years.
i wish him luck, but when he fails [and horribly, i might add] all i'll be able to say is he had his chance.

and if his ideas hadn't been so ridiculous then i might have been for him, too.

i was willing to give him a chance , but when he tried to cover up and protect Rahm , i lost my will again. to me it became business as usual again in the white house.

They lost. It feels bad to lose.

Also, some of the racist who come on Y/A spewing hate are really, really angry.

They can not believe that it is possible that there could be a black man in the white house.

I can't wait till it is not a big deal to have an Asian or a Hispanic President.

I can't wait until it does not matter what race a president is to everyone.

Of course you want to say "ignorance and racism". Because God forbid someone doesn't march in lock step with you and your messiah.

The truth is that most of us didn't vote for him because of his proposed policies. I have a hard time with a "civilian defense force" that will be "as well armed and equipped as the military".

Then there is his plan to get us out of the recession. Social programs and building infrastructure, placing us deeper in debt. That is exactly why we were in the Great Depression for ten years when the rest of the world was out of it in two years. If it didn't work then, it certainly isn't going to work now.

So, go on thinking that those that don't support your messiah are racist, I know it makes you feel better and superior.

The fact is that conservatives are giving him more of a chance than liberals ever thought of giving President Bush. Hell, after 8 years there is still Bush bashing, and I'm sure it will continue for many more years. Does that make liberals ignorant and racist?

*EDIT* Actually you are the one that blew the chance at civil discourse when you stated that you would "like to believe it is ignorance or racism". Also, to base your belief on the opinions of "your friends" also doesn't help your case. Using your logic, should I assume that EVERY Obama supporter is like you, assuming that those that didn't vote for him are racist. Since everyone that I know that voted for him is saying that about everyone that didn't vote for him? Of course I shouldn't, just as you shouldn't make the assumption that those that didn't vote for him, or those that don't support him on the issues are igorant and racist. I see that you don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot. And, if you are too blind to see the ligitimate points I make (while inserting shots against your ignorance in your assumptions about those that didn't vote for him or don't support him) then that is your problem, not mine.

*EDIT* Lets talk about his plan for the recession. He plans on at least a trillion for "stimulus". The largest part of that will be going to build infrastructure (we already have that) and the rest for social programs (which can't be supported without jacking taxes up on EVERYONE, not just the rich). As I said, the same thing was tried during the Great Depression, and we stayed in it for ten years while the rest of the world was out of it in two. Also, when the money for his plan is printed it will only serve to drive the value of the dollar down even more, which will prolong the recession/depression.

I'd like to know who our now president is now cause some neighbors speak different around here they say bush is not in no more

He's sketchy. Every long term relationship he's had with controversial individuals suddenly became distanced once they started affecting his campaign. I mean, how do you just publicly displace your pastor of 20 years?

We're extremely fearful of higher taxes. Small business will suffer tremendously, increase unemployment and inhibit growth and free enterprise under Obama's plan. Little business will never be able to compete with big business and win.

We, the middle class are tired of spreading the wealth. Welfare statistics show it's a failing program so why are we still funding it after 40 years? Social Security (our retirement) is broke yet Dems are against letting us invest the money for ourselves.

We have no faith in Obama to improve education as witnessed by the irrefutable failure of the Chicago School System.

We don't trust him to protect us from terror attacks.

He's accepted questionable donations from Muslim groups and Unions.

I do NOT think OB is Muslim but I do think his name and political affiliation has mislead many. He took too much money from too many people and, I feel, has over promised A LOT of people. I want to put faith in him but there are just too many questions...

I still bash him because he is a proven liar, but that would not differentiate him from most politicians so my main reason for bashing him is he doesn't have enough respect for the constitution or the people of this country to set the record straight on some things, he remains shady and without doubt the most secretive president elect in the history of president elect's.

Specifics: He promised to take the public financing for his campaign along with John McCain, they both agreed on it, he waited for McCain to sign on the dotted line then decided to "opt out", that makes him a liar.
He has spent $390K dollars on attorneys to help him keep his long form birth certificate hidden when it would have been much easier to produce it and move on which tells me he is hiding something which makes him shady. Also the fact that he said some revisions need to be made to the constitution of the united states in order to make it work; that is BS, he has no respect for it.
