Even After the fiasco at the banks under Republicans, they still say we don't need

nore reg's, do you agree? Heres what Bachus the chairman of the Banking comittee says about regulations:“In Washington, the view is that the banks are to be regulated, and my view is that Washington and the regulators are there to serve the banks,”

They are totally against a consumer protection agency that regulates banks and they think regulators are there to "serve" the banks and not consumers.

Obama will appoint Elizabeth Warren to head this agency, Republicans wanted anyone but her...why?
 
After the great depression we passed an intricate structure of regulations of the banking industry and it worked quite well for decades. In the late 70s/80s we started deregulating banks as well as almost every other kind of business and we have been continuing on this path ever since. This has been done by Republicans. Of course they want to continue this way. Banks, insurance companies etc. did not really lose any money in the meltdown. Investment bankers got huge bonuses for their failure, they make money when the bank makes money and they continue to make money when the banks fail. Government bales them out and they don't lose a thing. It is their job, it is what the corporations and the wealthy pay them to do; work for the wealthy and throw the American people under the bus. Just more of the same, but somehow we keep electing them anyway.
They don't want Warren because she is tough and works for the good of the people.
 
I really doubt that anybody really cares what Republicans want, after the mess they left this country in, no one takes them serious on anything involving t he economy or finance.

And yet the economy went down the toilet when the Dems controlled congress and were repeatedly warned bad things were going to happen.

All Nancy and Harry did was fiddle as the economy burned around them.
