EVDO in Santa Fe?

I'm stumped on this whole 3G/EVDO thing. My V3c has dual band CDMA 1x-EVDO listed in its info menu, and from several threaRAB I've read, phones with SID 6415 fall under the required PRLs for EVDO. Mine does, but it rejected the PRL 38515, and I was told it requires roaming on my plan, AND I have to dial *228 outside of my area, and I can't take roaming off again. Is this really all necessary? Is it even worth the extra cost?
 
if you have a roaming prl on your phone, then no, you cannot access evdo, its a completely seperate prl.

people in this market, (and when i say this market, i'm talking about the 4 city market that you and i are both covered by) when they either manually load the "1050" prl that someone on here made, or the real albuquerque market evdo prl that i've posted (pulled from an aircard) have evdo access in the 4 cities.

since you have a roaming prl loaded, no, you will not have it... unless someone decides to custom make a prl that has all the roaming lists, and the evdo towers... as of now.

I'm sure, when evdo is officially launched nationwide, cricket will have a new prl written that includes both.

Since you have a v3c, and i'm assuming access to proper software and cabling, i can give you the evdo prl. You'll lose roaming, but before you leave the city, then you can just *228, that'll write the roaming prl back, and you just have to re-write the evdo prl back when you're done roaming.

I don't have a roaming plan, and I only have PRL 1040 on my phone right now, because when I loaded 1050 onto it, it went into a constant loop; the screen would blank, then the worRAB would come up, then the wallpaper, then go blank again. I had to monster flash it to get it to work right again.
 
I managed to load in PRL 1050 without problems, though it still just displays the 1x. Grrrrr! What else is there?

I'll try that other PRL, ke5pjz. Hopefully that will work.

That other one is PRL 38515. It's a roaming PRL, which is useless because I don't have a roaming plan. I DID get 1050 to work, but it still displays 1x. Not sure why. Otherwise it seems to be working fine, it just isn't any faster than before.
 
the prl i specifically posted is NOT a roaming PRL. It is 1040 plus the addition of evdo sid's in santa fe, albuquerque, las cruces, el paso, nashville and portland.

We specifically pulled it from a cricket evdo card sold in albuquerque.

That specific prl gives me a evdo icon on both my treo, and a 6700 i just sold. I had to drop back down to 1040 on the treo, but in the brief day that i had that prl loaded, yes, i had evdo speed.
