If there's anything Japan loves more than anime-themed underwear (see: Shuffle!), it's Evangelion-themed merchandise (see: 99% of all anime merchandise). It was only a matter of time. This is also on blog.funimation.com at the top of the page.
 
Yeah, I remeraber they had packaged underwear in the limited edition DVD of Najica: Blitz Tactics, and I think they did it in a light novel version of the new Agent AIKa OVA, and they included Hakufu's underpants in a Japanese Ikki Tousen gift set that came with some action figures (and this isn't surprising considering it's Ikki Tousen)
 
Is there anything that Eva hasn't been turned into?

As for the underpants, not too surprised. I mean, it seems that Eva has been turned into everything else.

I'll skip the obvious joke and suggest they'd have "No one wants to admit the mistakes of their youth" on the front.
 
heh. "I mustn't run away". There's so many funny situations that could apply to, especially being written on underwear. If I met a guy wearing those I think i'd find it kind of cute, really. Makes me wish that they'd create some similar styles for girls (for more shows than just EVA).
 
I'm surprised EVA underwear didn't exist already. God knows that show has been turned into every other type of product imaginable!

I guess the Evangelion merchandising people ran out of stupid outfits to put Rei into and turn into figurines.
 
According to the article, the undergarments don't have "I mustn't run away" written on them, that's just the name of the style. Too bad, that would be a pretty nice dirty joke if they had "I mustn't run away" written on the crotch.



Ummm...you're a guy, so I'm going to have to ask what you need panties for.
 
They made Sailor Moon panties back in the day.

I'd also wouldn't mind some Eva panties, maybe black with the red NERV logo on the butt.


The generic blue stripe panties that have been becoming common in anime recently would be nice too, they are rather cute.
