evacuation of children during the second world war

During the London Blitz many Londoners sent thier children to live with families in the countryside away from the bombing of London. Others were sent to families willing to take them in.

The Evacuation of Children of the second world war?
Well, there was a transport (train) called the Kindertransport, that took children from the age they could walk, to the age of around 15, to a safer place in Europe. Some lucky ones would be sent on a boat to America and live here for the rest of their lives. But some stayed in Europe. At first, around 1939-1942 before Nazi Germany controlled most of Europe, the children would be taken to Austria or Holland.
Aftre 1942 most of the children on the trains would be captured. They would either be killed if they were to young or sick. But if they were at the right age (which most of them were) they would be taken to the concentration camps.
But soon after, a man (I forgot his name) played a big role in child evacuation. He established a road of safe houses (like what Harriot Tubman did for slaves) for children they would be safe in the houses. when they got to their final destination, which was usally France, because in Holland and Austria the jews were beaten and killed (and most of the children were jews) and there was a chance that the Allies might invade in France (D-Day) but that didn't happen for a few more years so the children would either join partistion fighters if they were old enough, or find hiding places with Gentiles.
So, many children survived the war, thanks to Kindertransport and the guuy whos name I forgot, and the Gentiles.
