eurotrip

I see this was on BBC1 again tonight - is it just me or is this possibly the worst movie ever made? Slovakia as some third world country where a dollar gets you a room in a luxury hotel for the night? British "soccer hooligans" with bad cockney accents running around? I know it's not going for realism, but it's impossible to find something funny when it's based on the pig ignorant way America evidently views the world. I'm sure they wouldn't find it too amusing if we had a comedy about a trip to America that consisted of illiterate yahoos running around hanging black people.

Before anyone says... I know it's supposed to be a joke, but that doesn't mean the rubbish plot and lazy scriptwriting are any more amusing. It's just an awful movie.

One of the actors in Euro Trip was also in Hostel.

Don't know his name but in Euro Trip he plays a hotel worker. In Hostel he plays the Police Officer that Paxton speaks to when Oli and Josh have both gone missing.

Yes it was part of many aspects of the film, but the portrayals of Bratislava and so on were clearly just based on ignorance alone. If you think that it was some sort of incredibly sophisticated and subtle attempt at irony then you're welcome to argue that point, but given that they couldn't even master the art of toilet humour I somehow doubt this was their intention.
