Europeans jealous of American's education?

I don't know if the Europeans are jealous, but they certainly believe that "study" that has been published explaining the terrible education in the USA. The truth is on a whole the public education system is not terrible far from it in fact. There are certain states (ex. Arizona) that have an absolutely terrible public education system and it throws off the average of the country dramatically. In the midwest and southern states you will find some of the best public schools not only in the country, but world. In that part of the country the students usually surpass a lot of Europeans. I do beleive that the East coast by a large majority far outranks the west coast in education. If you compared the education to states with the best education system with the whole of Europe, you would see an entirely different result. It is no coincidence that the major Ivy League universities are back east. Even the state colleges like Michigan, Penn and several in Wisconsin to name a few are on par with the Ivy Leagues. They are just as competitive and it is extremely hard to get accepted. Education and tradition is valued more in that part of the USA. I think most Europeans let the superficial, relaxed, "stupid" culture of the west coast define all of the USA. I live in the southwest and I can confirm education here is not up to the standard of the colleges back east. Most west coast schools are "party schools" and believe me there are plenty of "stupid europeans" here making fools of themselves. People choose to come out here from all over the world not because of the great education opportunities ( though we do have some), but for the weather and party going life style.

are you kidding me?
sorry to say so , but the american education is not good at all.
especially in public high schools.
a lot of schools focus more on sport instead of math, science geometry .

my daughter went 10 y into a german school and she is now since 3 years in an american school
she is often bored and has very good grades.even that engl is her secound language .

here are some question she got ask in the last 3 years:
Is Finnland a part of Germany?
Are you a Nazi (my daughter is bi-racial)?
Why do you not drive by car to Germany (!!!!)?
Is the Waffen SS really that violent (lol)?
Is Hitler still alive?
How could you escape ?Isn't there a wall around Germany?

Sorry for my grammar mistakes , I'm just since 3 years in the USA .

I think you'll find the education system in Europe is far more advanced than in the US,your knowledge of only 2 Universities that are in the UK is an obvious sign.

All Universities in the UK are to be paid for, they are not free, except in Scotland.
You don't even start main stream school until your around 7,you have kindergarten until then, ours is age 2 to3yrs in kinder and main stream school at the age of 4.

I mean europeans keep saying that Americans are stupid and stuff but why do we have the most prestige college? Like Harvard, Princeton and all the rest of the college that many european and other people in other nations come to get educated in? I think the only well known college I know in Europe is Oxford University and Cambridge University and I highly know anyone who really even wants to get into those university compared to Universities in America.

So is America's education system better because everyone around the world wants to be educated here?
