I know that a lot extremists go overboard with child abuse
Same with parents that are Desi, as with some other cultures.
BUT my question, putting aside all of that, in pure Islam, is child abuse tolerated? I am not talking about getting the child to do the right thing, I am talking about physically hitting them because they disobeyed your order and taking sticks and stuff and hitting them?
Stuff like that? I said Desi parents, because child abuse is so commonplace in in India and Pakistan, even the teachers are allowed to hit the students and such, but speaking strictly by the Quran is it wrong to cause harm to your children over pointless little things?
Most people that are abused grow up to repeat the same mistakes as their parents, and it just keeps going and going generation after generation. True some escape, but many live their lives in fear because of how their parents treated them, and become slaves to their wives/husbands/etc in the future.
Ok, i might not be making much sense, but is it wrong to hit your child?
I am Muslim, and was abused my parents, but I don't want to EVER hit my kids, that is when I get married. I just think that my wife might not have that same mindset and would cause problems in the marriage because I hate physically abusive women.
I would want my kids to learn their mistakes through different means. If they do something wrong, there are other ways other than hitting them.
