and by economics, he means billions of dollars to r & d a different kind of system to produce, handle and utilize any alternative fuel.

Would still like to know where all this hydrogen is coming from that will run our economy; oh, I remember now, the nuclear power plant will run a large electrolytic plant that will create the hydrogen.
 
One option.

Regardless of the need for hydrogen, we will likely need a non-petro source of electricity......if for no other reason than to conserve petro for other uses and reduce polution/CO2/etc.

At this point, it appears that nuclear is about the only option for electricity but the transportation/hydrogen thing seems to be leaning toward fuel cells.

Guess I need to read up on fuel cells a bit.......there MY knowlege is lacking.
 
large solar arrays in the southwest, windmills in other spots and the odd solar cell on factory rooftops.

figuring out the best way to store these things, difficult and......


Using any oil based products to generate electricity should be phased out as a waste of resources.
