Watching this on Channel 4 at the moment, it's the 3rd time I've seen it. I think this is the only film I've ever seen that gets better with each viewing, as it gets less confusing all the nuances come out and you get to appreciate the performances because you're not trying to work out what's going on!

Ooooh noooo...this looks like a really good film with a great cast and I've missed most of it. :( Thanks for letting us know - I'll make sure to watch out for it next time round.

Saw it for the first time tonight and I loved it. I would also recommend Vanilla Sky is you haven't seen it, even you hate Tom Cruise, its another good film with a very similar premise.

It's probably the best Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet have ever been. It's a brilliant brilliant movie with perfect casting, music and everything. And the best movies are the ones you have to watch more than once (take The Prestige for instance).

Even better, try 'Open Your Eyes' which is the Spanish original of Vanilla Sky. Exactly the same script, more believable acting, less Hollywood daftness, and you get to keep Penelope Cruz and ditch Tom Cruise.

The only thing I missed from the Vanilla Sky version was the soundtrack. I understand Tom Cruise liked Open Your Eyes so much he bought the rights, which is how he ended up starring in it when he took it to Hollywood.

Open Your Eyes is a fantastic film.

I watched Vanilla Sky and found it much better than I thought it would be, I have as yet not watched Eteranl Sunshine, but as you have said it will no doubt be back on film 4 ad nauseum.

I have to agree, if you haven't seen this film you have to watch it.
If you are in a relationship or have come out of a long one, then it will really grab you.

The way it is depicted is a universal feeling amongst men and women.

This is one of the most boring dreary films I have ever seen in my life. I went to the cinema and fell asleep. I tried to watch it on Sky Movies and gave up after half an hour. It is so Dull.

I agree with your appraisal. However, I initially gave this film the wide berth for one singular reason alone - Jim Carrey was in it. Had I stuck with this stubborn mode of thought, I would

I adore this movie, but for soem raeson I'm left with such a downer when it goes over, I only watch it if I'm already feeling blue. There's no reason for it to make me :(, but it really bums me out for some reason!

Mind you, Lilo and Stitch also does this to me, I might just be a weirdo.

I love this film - I have it on video and have watched it 3 times so far. (I can only watch it every now and then because it makes me think about my ex!)

It is a very thought provoking film and wonderful from start to finish.

That song is perfect for this film :) It was a lovely suprise when I first saw it, not realising that it was on the soundtrack. Beck's voice is just the right kind of melancholic tone imo.

This film is one of my all time faves :D

Apologies for the thread necromancy, but I've just noticed this is on Channel 4 tonight at 11.10. I feel like I'm on a mission here but if you haven't yet seen it then I really think you should! Enjoy :)
