Can our esophagus actually heal itself with medications and eating correctly? I know the opening (can't spell it) from the stomach weakens, allowing the acid into the esophagus. With time, medication and correct eating, will that correct the problem?

Also, can someone give me information about the improved surgery.

What I do know is the medication can heal some of the tissue that is inflamed by the acid and the little flap you are talking about can't tighten back up on it's own if it has become too thinned out. Medications will keep the inflamation down and in turn allow the tissue to heal!
