Esn or Ota does It matter?

If have a flashed phone, do I need to make a esn change on active account for this phone to fully work?

Or It doesnt make any difference If I start a new account and ota?

You need to make sure you have a flux capacitor handy. Makes no difference how you activate, my only suggestion would be to not Ota program your phone I would look up the manual method.
