Eris or wait?

i am finally due for my upgrade.I am looking at getting the eris or should i wait to see what else verizon is coming out with?

They're going to come out with the HTC Incredible soon. Kind of like a Droid Eris mated to a Nexus One. You might like to wait a bit more.

If price and not the bleeding edge matters for you, the Droid Eris might be the cheapest Android you can get today with the lowest initial purchase cost on contract. Its really an nice phone but needs an OS update which is said to be coming. I'm quite surprised with its voice clarity.

I think that update is coming although Verizon tends to be very conservative, like they want to be absolutely sure the update won't screw up people. So far I've seen the update have already been leaked, and even people using it on the CDMA HTC Hero.

Basically its the same update used on the HTC Hero, as the Droid Eris is just a repackaged Hero. So we know at least from HTC's end, this update exists. Will likely be pushed out of the GSM HTC Hero first then to the CDMA variants of the HTC Hero including the Droid Eris.
