I strongly suspect you're a promoter for the film disguised as a newbie, but just in case - welcome to the boards and thanks for the thread! :wave: (we're very friendly to newbies here)

I've never heard of the book or film, but the title alone sounds like a poorly-spelled LOTR ripoff. Here's the [color=pink]IMDb page info[/color].

While the stills from the film look silly, it does have a fairly good cast so who knows? ...but then, Willow had a decent cast, too! :lol: Of course, it's a family-oriented film, so a little cheese is necessary for the kids, so I shouldn't judge it too harshly.
 
I'll have to check out the trailer when I get home

the names of the cast is what gives me hope that the movie will be good
 
I prob should reread Eragon. There's a few books I need to read on my school break.

I usually can only devote my attention to one thing at a time. and Eldest is a huge novel that needs individual attention.

I think you should see the movie first so if there turns out to be a lot of changes you won't be disappointed.
 
wow the 2nd 1 does look dark now that people pointed it out. lol

i can't wait to start reading it. I'm in the middle of a different novel so i'm waiting.....usually i like reading more than 1 book @ once..but i want to devote my full attention to Eldest. I was even thinking of reading Eragon again so i can go to Eldest right after lol
 
Hmmm the trailer I've seen looks like a deliberate cross between Harry Potter/D & D and LOTRs, but then, the book wasn't exactly orginal either though as you've said it was a good read :) My younger sons want to see this so I'll guess I'll be seeing this at the cinema with them as a Christmas treat, otherwise I think I would have waited for the DVD as I generally do like the genre.

I read the book and I absolutely loved it. So imagine my utter joy when my mate Chris sends me this! I can't believe it. I'm actually well excited!

What does everyone else think of the film coming out?
