Equilibrium ? Punch Drunk Love ?

Any thoughts on these two films folks ? Both out on DVD this week and I want to rent something tonight. I like sci-fi /action but Equilibrium looks like crap, and the whole gun kata thing looks like a ridiculous gimmick. Anybody seen it can change my mind ?
As for Punch Drunk Love, I admire the director's previous work ( Boogie Nights, Magnolia, that gambling one with Gwyneth Paltrow ) but I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler's dorky mugging. Is it any good ?
Decisions decisions......

well had no help with this but I watched Equilibrium, and found it unconvincing except the action scenes which were exciting and miles better than Daredevil. I am now convinced that Christian Bale would make a superb 007, if he was interested in taking over from Brosnan.

haven't seen either, but really want to see *punch drunk love*. the sheer amount of praise heaped on it did seem a bit odd in a *Adam Sandler In Good Film* shock type way, but have to say it looks pretty good, and despite his other films, he has always kind of looked as tho' he could perhaps do more - he was OK in the *the wedding singer* for example.

I have the Region 1 Superbit Deluxe Punch Drunk Love and I think the movie is great.

I'm definitely not an Adam Sandler fan. This film, however, actually does a superb job in allowing him to act. it's absolutely the complete opposite of his previous roles (happy gilmore etc).

However, it is quite a slow and subtle love story so beware.
