This thread is just riddled with great releases.

This is probably my favorite thing they've done.

large.album.jpg

Captures some of the best early stuff and of what is to follow.

Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada by GY!BE is quite possibly their best work. It's two songs long, and 30 or so minutes and plays as one long song ending in possibly the most powerful crescendo I've ever heard. Definitely gets my vote.

Show me them.

Here are a few I consider the band's best work.

These Arms Are Snakes - This Is Meant To Hurt You

Les Savy Fav - Rome (Written Upside Down)

Nine Inch Nails - Broken

Lyrabyc Systym - Carved By Glaciers
(initially released as a 5-track EP, it was recently re-released with 2 additional tracks - remixes - that I'm sure weaken the impact of the EP)

I do not have this... you wouldn't happen to have an upload would you?

Anyhow I can't believe I forgot this one

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution - A Call to Arms

:D

Ah thanks for the reminder, I meant to check that out after you mentioned it in the other thread. I was a Pumpkins fan from Gish to Adore, but never heard this. I don't know that I'll like it though, because I really only like half of the material on Mellon Collie (a mixture of the soft and heavy, I think...it just depenRAB on the track).

Some more top-notch EPs that may or may not be their best work.

Dillinger Escape Plan (with Mike Patton) - Irony Is A Dead Scene

Hot shit, right? I mean, it's seen better days, but come on! Still spins like a beauty... Carnival of Sorts is as good as ever.

To be fair I was surprised at myself as well, for some reason it didn't come to mind when I thought of good EPs. I guess for some strange reason I consider it an album, dunno why.

High Places s/t EP kicks ass.

and Xiu Xiu - Chapel of the Chimes

I'm Lonely (And I Love It) - Future Bible Heroes

lonely_large.jpg

This EP is better than any of the full length albums I've heard from the Future Bible Heroes brand, just fully over the top with cheesy electronic dance music paired with the typical songwriting you'd expect from Merritt (which is by no means a complaint).. 'I'm as lonely as Mount Everest, and probably as high.' God love it.

At The Drive-In have quite a few quality EPs. I was listening to El Gran Orgo earlier... it's another great one. Same goes for Stereolab. Also, there were more than a few kick ass no wave EPs, Mars, DNA, Swans, and Teenage Jesus & The Jerks (who only ever released EPs).

And of course:

Really surprised no one mentioned that one yet. I'm sure that's got to be one of the best EPs ever.
